The movie starts off too slow, it takes half of the movie to get to theend of all the fighting scenes, than another 30% of the movie is aboutpeople trying to kill the main actor. What i failed to realize is whydid they even named it Death Race?

First part is not Death Race and the 2nd part is a rip-off from theoriginal. Hell they even used the same cars as in Death Race (2008)

But sure, the movie was watchable and entertaining to some point, butthe ending is the real disappointment. And about being realistic,they'll need a dictionary for that. Or maybe just type Sci-Fi in thetitle next time.

They should have named the movie Deathmatch.

This movie was more of a prequel to 'Death Race' than 'MI3' was asequel to 'MI2'. But some of the reviewers are right. The title ismisleading. They should have called it 'Origins' or something. And whatis this hullabaloo over acting. The writers gave the characters depthand the actors did their job well. People comment as if they have satthrough 'Inside The Actors Studio' sessions. Surely one the mostrecommendable direct to DVD fair.

The director has managed to pull through with whatever smaller budgethe had to work with. Only flaw if you are looking for one is that, thecharacters are too similar looking to that of Death race. The makersshould have been brave enough to break the mold and bring a little bitof freshness.

This movie is an absolute nightmare. I can not understand how theycould manage to make such a bad movie. In fact, they almost deserve anachievement for how bad they have made it.

It's not the story that ruins the movie. Sure, the story is about asintelligent as George Bush, but that is not the akilees heel of thisfilm. The akilees heel of this film is the director and thecinematographer. I can not understand how they can shoot and edit thefilm like this.

First of all, they use a lot of shaky cam, to make the driving seemintense. Unfortunately this does do anything else then make your headdizzy. It is so obvious that the cars are driving incredibly slow. Thismanes that the main theme of this film; Cars and driving. So 5 minutesin to the film, the backbone is already broken. Another thing thatruins the driving, is the sound. Most of the cars are roaring v8's, butmost of the time they sound like a 1,6L Honda civic with a turbo.

The actors does an acceptable job. Sure, none of them play particularlywell, but none of them play badly neither. The voices of the actors arein some scenes obviously captured inside a studio, and this reallymakes the actors seem a lot less believable.

My conclusion is that you should stay away from this movie. The moviedoesn't capture any of the thrills you found in the first film. It isonly an attempt to make a profit with as little expenses as possible.

I seen the original death race 2000 in 1975 thought it was great, but Iwas 15 then, and today I still love it. In 2008 they released deathrace I was expecting a remake, but it was not . I'm glad it was'nt iliked the new story the only thing taken from the original was weapons,and a few character names. Again like the original I thought the newone was great (ok it was better).

This prequel did lack a few things, but nothing to bad in my opinion.For those that that liked the originals I suggest to you to see thisfilm it fills in gaps from the 2008 film. Will definitely add this tomy collection the day it is released on DVD.

If there is anything the studios should have done different is thatthey should have done this film first.

BTW don't listen to movie critics about this movie because they basetheir criticisms on what they think is a good movie not what we asindividual movie goers think is a good movie.

Being a fan of the previous Death Race (2008), I decided to check outDeath Race 2 to see how well it is and because of the cast. Death Race2 is pretty alright but it isn't as great as Death Race. Death Race 2basically shows the life of Carl "Luke" Lucas (Luke Goss), how is sentto prison, racing in the death races and how he later became known asFrankenstein. The film has some good action sequences that are quitebrutal yet funny and entertaining, specifically one scene with DannyTrejo. Death Race 2 follows the same formula within the plot as DeathRace but they change a few things. Death Race 2 isn't as good as DeathRace because of the story, the action sequence and stunts, and thechemistry between the leads aren't as good as in Death Race. I wasexpected more. Nonetheless, Death Race 2 is still very entertaining forfans, but don't expect too much. The ending of Death Race 2 is realgood and I think ends neatly. In general the film is pretty good but itcould have been better.
