Life as We Know It / Rated PG-13 for sex, language, drugs, dirtydiapers A blind date with two very mismatched people leads tocomplications. The people are Katherine Heigl, a cute bakery/restaurantowner and Josh Duhamel a beer drinking, sports loving hunk of a guy wholikes to womanize and jog. The people who set up their date are theirrespective best friends. The BF's get married and have a child. A cutebaby named Sophie. The BF's then meet the grim reaper and leave the kidto the baker and the drinker. More complications ensue. Lots more. Theydecide to raise the baby while living at odds in the dead BF's home inAtlanta, GA in order to raise the cute little Sophie. The predictableevents that are almost completely given away in the film's trailers alloccur right on schedule. Even if you haven't seen the trailer you canpretty well guess the events correctly from what I have just told you.LAWKT is a pleasant if very predictable comedy with more comedy thanexpected. The movie runs a trifle long at 112 minutes and a good 20minutes could have easily disappeared without notice or harm to thestoryline. Since most of the plot issues have come from many othermovies they have pretty much relegated this movie to a "date film" withheavy "chick" film overtones. The cute scenes with Sophie are easilythe best part of the movie. Sophie is played by an adorable set ofacting Triplets known as Alexis, Brynn and Brooke Clagett. They arereally great and look a lot alike. I could not tell them apart. If youcan please tell me how you did it. They appear to have no prior actingexperience. A lot like the Wayans Bros. in any of their movies. Thescenes are actually filmed in and around Atlanta GA. Do not confusethis city with Vancouver BC. Or vice-versa. As a date movie this one ispretty good. The two main stars do a decent job in their Odd Coupleroles as opposites destined for true love. The ever busy Josh Lucasturns up as the Doctor and love interest rival for KH. This movie willlook pretty much the same on DVD as it does on the big screen. At least70% of the scenes appear to be inside the home where the 3 Sophie's andher adopted parents are attempting to cope with her feeding, poopingand just plain looking cute. Pamper anyone? Rated 2.5 out of 4.0reasons to be glad this movie is not in smell-o-vision

"I believe it would not be too costly to produce."We can just change the characters and modify the story line a bit. Wecan also sign some popular talent who draw an audience. The profitmargin could be sizable." "What do you think the title should be?" "Howabout, "LIfe as We Know It"?" " OK, let's check this out. Get it readyfor a focus group evaluation. You just may have something."

This review may be more of a protest against an apparent lack ofcreativity in Hollywood. Remakes are becoming much too frequent. Thepoint is that I'm looking for more originality for my entertainmentdollar. Don't count on me to buy tickets for this one. I'll watch"Raising Waylon" again. Not bad at all, And this coming from a guy! I actually watched this oneafter seeing 'Faster' and actually liked this one better. So now i knowif i am going to watch romantic comedies, i'll definitely choose theones starring Kathy Heigl over the ones starring per say Jenn aniston.She is a comfortable and often enjoyable presence on the screen. Myfave movie of hers to date is still 'Knocked Up' and I also enjoyed'The Ugly Truth' that she did with Gerard Butler. In this Heigl playsHolly Berenson, when Holly is setup on a blind date with Eric Messer(Josh Duhamel) by joint friends of theirs they find out its not goingto quite work out between the two of them for the lack of not being tostand each other. After a tragic car accident claims the lives of Hollyand Eric's two pals they are left to care for their 2 -3 year olddaughter Sophie (sorry missed her actual age in the film, if it wassaid at all) . We feel the stress these two are under as they deal withraising an infant and trying to bond as a family despite all theirdifferences. Both Duhamel and Heigl work very well together in turnwhich represents itself on screen as a lot of electricity. If you likeromantic comedies i definitely suggest it!

I just got back from a free screening of this movie and can honestlysay that not only did I enjoy this movie, but the majority of thetheater did too (over half of movie goers were aged 40+). This movie isa comedy / drama / romantic comedy and appeals to everyone fromteenagers to older adults (whether you like chick flicks or not).Teenagers can laugh at plenty jokes and enjoy the likes and looks ofKatherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel & Josh Lucas... while on the other hand,adults can truly enjoy and relate to the natural bond that developsbetween Heigl and Duhamel.

Overall the acting wasn't superb, but definitely good (especially for acomedy!). The chemistry between Heigl and Duhamel flows smoothlythroughout the entire film and is enjoyable to watch. There were plentyof extremely entertaining characters in the movie that made it attimes, impossible to stop laughing minutes on end. There were also acouple of sincere scenes that people can become emotionally attachedto, as some viewers cried.

While this movie does not take you on an emotional roller coaster andis quite predictable, it does not take too much away from the humor orentertainment value of the film. Guys who don't like chick flicks willfind this movie funny while women who love chick flicks will easily seethis fit their taste. Not to many films can accomplish this.

In conclusion, I totally enjoyed this movie and will definitelypurchase on DVD to watch again. I thought it was filled with lots oflaughs, joy and if you're the type of person, tears. Don't let thepredictability of the movie deter you from seeing it! This movie iscomical to everyone and will surely entertain you. 8/10 stars for beinga truly funny movie, but a little too predictable at times with anoccasional slow scene.

I watched this movie because I quite like to watch romantic comediesand the plot seemed really interesting, but I'm sorry to say that I wasdisappointed by this movie.

The beginning is good and it seems like something that could happen inreal life, but later on the movie turns out to be unconvincing, forexample the parts with the social worker are too crazy.

I have to point out that the performance of the actors is good, theyhave good chemistry together and make the plot at least a bitbelievable.

For me, this is just another ordinary romantic comedy (despite thetragic part), one of the movies that I struggled to watch till the endand I will definitely not watch it again.
