OK so I have been a huge fan of the Step Up movies ever since theoriginal with Channing Tatum came out. That being said, I had highexpectations going into watch Step Up 3D. I am going to address a fewdifferent aspects of the movie and some of the complaints I've heardabout it.

The plot is typical of that of a dance movie. Everything is superdramatized yet it all works out somehow. The acting was just OK. Mostof what was said in between the dance scenes was painfully corny andalmost hard to watch. That being said, MOST people do not go to see aDANCE movie for a fantastic plot. If you want a better story, watch theoriginal Step Up (that at least has a decent plot).

Now for the dancing!! The dancing was INCREDIBLE. I wondered how theywere going to top Step Up 2 which had some pretty spectacular moves.From start to finish, the dances in this movie blew me away. They werecreative and inspiring and made me wish I could dance! Everyone coulddance extremely well. I was also happier that the main girl in themovie could actually dance. In Step Up 2, it seemed like the only girlsthat could really dance were on the opposing crews, or pretty muchanyone besides the main girl.

As for the 3D effects, they were better than some of the 3D movies thathave been out lately. If you are willing to pay the extra money then gofor it. If not, I don't think you'll lose any of the greatness of themoves.

This film has been getting a lot of heat for having crappy dialog andplot...but really, did anyone see step up 2? I, personally, think thisone is way better. While some may say it was dumb to talk about howdeeply dance can change things and touch the lives of others...Anyonewho has ever been a dancer knows that's true. At the risk of gettingcheesy, sometimes dance is there for people when everything else isn't.

That being said the dancing is amazing! Combined with the Real3Dtechnology it was actually quite mind blowing. There isn't reallyanything to say about the dancing, you have to see it to believe it. Ifyou don't like 3D, don't see it in 3D, that is an option folks.

Take this film for what it is, a dance movie. Don't look forinteresting twists, amazing acting, or top notch dialog. If you areliked the first two, you will like this one; if you're a dancer, youwill most likely love this one.

First of all I must say I'm a dance lover...And when I say lover, Imean it. I have watched all Step Up movies (1,2 and 3D) and this lastone is without a doubt the best one. Character and script wise it wasstill very predictable but what movie isn't? (aside from Remember Me)Being inside the dance world has brought to the understanding I nowhave of music and motion. The passion I have for dance is portrayed inStep Up 3D in a documentary way and I don't think that any dancer couldask for more. Also the passion for film is well explicit in this movie.If you love the arts you should probably be buying your ticket! Notonly does the movie show you how good it feels to dance but also themeaning of friendship in between. And how hard it is to survive in thedance world. A new kind of family emerges. As for the producer, thewell known Adam Shankman, judge from So You Think You Can Dance, greatwork once again! Also from SYTYCD are all-stars Twitch and Legacy.GREAT WORK. Although I expected more from Twicth.

Overall Step Up 3D is a must-see. Hope you enjoy!

The first film was really only good for the dancing, the second filmwas an improvement, but still all about the dancing, and this thirdfilm had the added 3D element, but is still all about the dancing.Basically Moose (Adam G. Sevani), who is majoring in electricalengineering and has promised his father he won't dance anymore, andCamille (Alyson Stoner), also a dancer, are attending New YorkUniversity. Moose makes a new friend in fellow dancer and member of the"House of Pirates", Luke (Rick Malambri), after spotting his pairLimited Edition Gun Metal Nike Dunks, and of course they share aninterest in street dancing. In amongst everything there is a rivalrybetween the two dance gangs, the Pirates and the "House of Samurai",and Luke, with skilled and in between gang dancer Natalie (SharniVinson), and the friends he has made making his documentary showingpeople's passion for dancing, they plan to beat them. There is a bigstreet dance competition to win the title as World Jam champions andthe $10,000 prize for the best routine, and of course they win and alldifferences are forgotten about. Also starring Keith Stallworth asJacob, Kendra Andrews as Anala, Stephen 'tWitch' Boss as Jason, Martínand Facundo Lombard as The Santiago Twins, Oren 'Flearock' Michaeli asCarlos, Joe Slaughter as Julien, Daniel 'Cloud' Campos as Kid Darknessand Kathy Najimy as Moose's Mom. Firstly, it has a really goodsoundtrack, with Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys' "Empire State of Mind", andthe song that beat The Saturdays' "Higher to number one, Flo Rida feat.David Guetta's "Club Can't Handle Me". The predictable story is ofcourse not as interesting as seeing the wonderful and excitingchoreography and brilliant dance routines, and with lasers, flashy(literally) get-ups, bubbles and floating slush puppies, and if you'relucky enough to see it in 3D you get a little bit more of a buzz, forthe dancing, a worthwhile romantic dance drama. Good!

Not too bad and everything you may expect for a dance flick. Why it isin 3D is anyone's guess, ohh yehh, thats right, every second movie isin 3D these days. If your a fan of the other two Step Up films you willabsolutely love this predictable story. A battle of dance teams loomswith prize money needed to pay the bank to hold the closure of thestreet dancers studio/residence. The cast is good looking and talentedas they strut their stuff, a highlight being a splashing dance scene inwater. Australian starlet,Sharni Vinson, last seen in CSI.NY is anatural while Rick Malambri (Surrogates) will have the ladies swooningat his disco inferno. It's an OK movie, family friendly and undemandingentertainment.
