Didn't we watch this movie already? Yea. All the way back in April of2010. Back then it was called The Back-Up Plan. I commend Hollywood'sperseverance. Flop after flop, they just don't give up.

The Switch stars Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. Kassie (Aniston)is sick of hoping for the stars to align and for her to meet the rightguy, fall in love, get married, and have a family. Wally (Bateman) isher neurotic, cynical BFF who's suppressed his feelings for her foryears. There is obviously some chemistry between Wally and Kassie, butneither of them has ever made a move so they've entered "the friendzone". Kassie decides to take matters into her own hands and become asingle mother via Roland, a sperm donor. At her insemination party,with the virtue contained in alcohol and the brilliance of those washtheir livers with it, Wally replaces Roland's sperm with his own. Ofcourse, having drank so much and masturbating to a picture of DianeSawyer, Wally can't remember a damn thing. Years down the road, Kassiereturns from Minnesota with her son, Sebastian, who's now 5 1/2. Rolandre-enters the picture and tries to take his place as Sebastian'ssupposed father. Meanwhile, Wally begins to see striking similaritiesbetween him and Sebastian and he begins to wonder.

The Switch is a huge step up from The Back-Up Plan. The writing isbetter. The acting is better. And I only slapped my forehead a handfulof times. That being said, The Switch isn't spectacular either.

Jennifer Aniston, please as a public service - stop making chickflicks. Just stop it. I know you're filthy rich from Friends and youoccasionally get bored, but don't do movies simply because you can. I'mtired of seeing the same Jennifer Aniston over and over. Go do DerailedPart 2 or something. Luckily, Jason Bateman is able to carry the slack,though not without help. The interaction between Wally and Sebastian isthe best part of this movie. Their affinity to one another isbelievable and Sebastian's replication of Wally's neurotic and cynicalpersonality is wonderfully entertaining. Wally on dealing with bullies:

Wally: You know you're going to have to stand up to him eventually.

Sebastian: But I don't want to.

Wally: Then he'll continue to kick your ass.

Unfortunately that doesn't make up for everything this movie lacks - orhas, rather. It has all your standard chick flick moments and followsthe tried and true formula for disappointing the unfortunate malespectators. The Switch is mediocre and barely passes as entertainment.

I hate to say it, I really do. And to be honest, I hope that JenniferAniston doesn't hate me for saying it, but this has to be, withoutquestion, the best piece of acting Jennifer Aniston has ever done "in amovie." The Switch, I would have to say is rated second-all-time amongmovies that are identifiable by a viewing audience as having JenniferAniston in them. 'Rumor Has It' was her top movie, according to me.There was a shift for her person in films. She came out as thisviolent, I can take care of myself person, and I'm not afraid to walkall over good people to get what I want. If you ask me, it was abouttime! It's obvious that she wasn't fooling anyone in any of her otherfilms playing some jilted lover that was getting a raw deal, whose nota whore, she's just unlucky. No! In like every other film, exceptLeprechaun I think, her fourth best movie, she's definitely a whore!It's her whiny nature that makes you think, "maybe she's not a whore,just bad things happen to her, and she's unlucky." No! She's a whore.Not only that, she's the worst kind of whore, she's the kind of whorethat wants you to feel sorry for her! The Switch was almost better thanall of those movies, but ultimately it failed to completely free herfrom the bonds of this obvious typecast. I hate to say it, but if theOscar people are ever going to give Jennifer an Oscar for Best LeadingActress, then this would be the time, she has peaked. Unfortunately,she is not going to get better, and even though she may not deserve towin an Oscar, like so many other winners, I think she has officiallyput in the time, and I am officially rooting for her, because I amusually officially disgusted with the results. At least with pickingher, I can draw from over twenty years of viewing entertainment, andsay yes, what the hell, someone has to win an acting award every year,might as well be Jennifer Aniston!

how can people actually that this movie was bad ?

apparently, we did not watch the same movie!

I thought the movie was amazing! and the actors did an amazing job,even the kid! and I'm sure he's gonna grow up to be an extremelytalented actor!

I have never, and i mean never cried watching a movie before, and ididn't this time either. There has been 4 times where i almost didthough! and that would be from Titanic, The next best thing, Hachiko (ADog's story) and now i can add The Switch to the list.

So, in my opinion, this was a great movie, and i can't understand whyit only has 5.8 on the user review! i'm giving this a 10/10 !

Teaming Jason Bateman with Jennifer Anniston was an awful,casting,mistake .Zero chemistry . Was it not obvious at rehearsals ? Batemanhas true comic timing and a expressive phisog (face) .Anniston is hertypical blank slate .All Rachel all the time . "I'm not pessimistic,I'm a realist."spouts Wally. Scintillating dialogue does not abound .Turkey baster jokes should have been flying left and right .Theyweren't. Sperm confetti was flying,left and right, at the spermdonation party . Blasting Madonna's Papa don't Preach to underscore thenaughty nature of this film was another huge mistake . Cornball,clichéd scenes are on full display . Jeff Goldblum runs away with thismovie . As Leonard Wally's sidekick . His few scenes are hilarious .

Awful disgusting not a comedy just another fast forwarding movie ofthis year.Those actors really have greater possibilities but i cantunderstand whats going wrong , stupid plots stupid acting and peoplethat give money for this ? Stay away there's nothing more to say aboutthis bellow mediocre movie but i m forced to write something to fulfillthe ten lines .Jennifer Aniston is sexy i know but thats all you willnot find any good acting here try elsewhere. Also from the middle ofthe movie it started to be really boring ...
